I’m Kellie McInnes, a solicitor in the SMSF team at Green Mortgage Lawyers, and my favourite saying is: “Do it any way – do it if it’s hard, if it’s uncomfortable, if you’re unsure. What is waiting on the other side is usually worth it, and if not, you’ve learnt a lesson.”

I finished my Bachelor of Laws at USQ in 2024 and was admitted in 2025. I’ve spent nearly 15 years in the legal industry, starting in conveyancing as a paralegal before moving into banking and finance at Gadens and MSA National. I even tried family law for a short time, but it wasn’t for me—so I returned to my passion in SMSF law. I bring a practical, organised approach and a strong attention to detail to every matter, with a ‘get the job done’ attitude, aiming to make the settlement process as smooth and straightforward as possible for everyone involved.

Outside of work, I recharge with my kids and our little dog, and I’ve recently rediscovered the joy of reading now that I have a little free time. No day is ever the same in my role, and I love the variety and constant learning it brings. Being part of the supportive, collaborative SMSF team—and the wider GML family—makes every challenge feel achievable, and I enjoy helping clients and colleagues navigate complex matters with confidence and clarity.
